
Q. What are the fees for the home?
A. Our fees have two levels. £496 for standard needs, and £511 for higher personal care needs. Please contact us for clarification of these differentials
Q. Can relatives and friends call at any time?
A. Yes, visiting is relaxed and flexible. Friends and relatives are welcome to join residents for a meal at a small charge by prior arrangement.
Q. Who provides bedding and towels and who does the laundry?
A. At Abbeyfield House we have a purpose built laundry that services all our residents washing and ironing requirements. We provide all bedding and towels.
Q. Who administers medication?
A. Our senior care staff are trained to give medicines and we have all the inbuilt security and facilities as required by our registration.
Q. What type of qualifications do the staff have?
A. The Manager holds the Registered Managers Award and the majority of staff have attained their National Vocational Qualification level 2. Our longer serving senior staff have attained level 3 or level 4. All members of staff have to achieve their NVQ level 2 if they continue to work at Abbeyfield House and have joined us fresh to the Care Home environment. We are continually providing training courses above the level needed for our registration requirements.
Q. Are there transport links nearby?
A. Abbeyfield House is easily accessible by road and there is a frequent bus service to Clitheroe outside the door of the Home.
Q. How accessible are facilities within the Home?
A. Level entry into Abbeyfield House makes it easy for wheelchairs and there is a lift between floors.
Q. Can you see a copy of the contract/written conditions for the Home?
A. Yes, these can be shown to you when you come to look around and you will receive a copy as a resident.
Q. What arrangements do you have for handling valuables and cash?
A. All resident’s rooms have a secure drawer and the Manager can look after resident’s cash if required. This will be accounted for and held in the safe.
Q. How do I know that this is a really good care home?
A. We are proud of our high local reputation. We are committed to top quality care and have approval from the Care Quality Commission, Investors in People and Lancashire County Council Social Services.
